    There will come a point where African Americans like these guys will have to admit to themselves that the usage of the word Nigga in rap lyrics and songs cannot be justified as solely for use by Americans who are part African. You can't promote the word by saying it, singing it, recording it and broadcasting it globally and expect people to not say it. I never hear fair skin people say this so called offensive word. People will realise it is irrational, impractical, unintelligent and segregating to have language that only one racial type of people can use. Just like when Kendrick Lamar got a caucasian female to sing his 'Nigga' laden song on stage and then mocked and incited hate towards her in a mass concert gathering. It is aggression disguised as some righteous stance. You can't hide that energy and intent forever. Also the more I learn about dance the more I see moves that go way back in history. I don't think you can isolate completely racially with dance either, like this video shows: ua-cam.com/video/4axM1TZtkh0/v-deo.html

    first 3 tracks then jump to 39 min and listen to what he does with a Bobby (don't worry, be happy) McFerrin track. Bobby McFerrin didn't use instruments. Just his voice, singing, skatting, and hitting his hands off his body. This is sick what he does. Derrick Carter. You get the chance to see him spin live, you'll walk out amazed and I guarantee at one point you will almost stop dancing because you'll hear him pull something out of the side of his head that will put you into a hyper mode of paying attention to what he's doing. I'm blessed I've seen him live and I've seen OH SO MANY greats live. But no one is Derrick Carter, and I'll throw in the white boy Mark Farina along with him.

    160 bpms is footwork, but Chicago has Jack house and deep house. obviously slower then the 160 Charles mentions.

    Booty house and Free style. they both suck. and idiots call it house here.

  • @johnnymatteis3452
    @johnnymatteis3452 5 років тому

    They're talking about Ghetto House. Here's a very very sad thing about the term House in Chicago, and being a House Fly or House Head myself, Ghetto House is also called Hard House. It sucks if you ask me. The sad thing is, even tho Chicago is still the mecca of house, for people to know that I like house, I have to tell them I like Underground for them to understand that I actually mean House. Every other city in the world, House is house, hard house is hard house, or ghetto house, or free style, and if I say I like house they think I like that bullshit, but if I say I like Underground they know exactly what I mean. But those are all fads now, and a select few still dig it and are into it. While real House is still for a select few here in Chicago, House still starts and comes from Chicago, but house is still surviving in every other city, while hard house, ghetto house and free style are not. It's still some what of an acquired taste here, but it's still rocking in some places for the last decades. I love to see it's big in so many places around the world. I like the term Underground, because that's how it's dealt with here too. You go to house club, it's an underground place you're going to.

  • @johnnymatteis3452
    @johnnymatteis3452 5 років тому

    Frankie and Larry came from New York, and THANK YOU NEW YORK FOR THAT, but they're old school house. Chicago now, what's it evolved into. Shit is deep on the south side, but there' no better house club the Smart Bar on the North Side directly across the street from Wrigley. Still going strong decades later, and it's still the best house club to go to. Holds a couple hundred people only. I got Derrick Carter doing a 7 hour set this Friday. From 10 to 5 am.. That's because he's home. Let Derrick go spin for thousands in Europe. WE get the the treat. Great interview. I'm just ranting.

  • @johnnymatteis3452
    @johnnymatteis3452 5 років тому

    That was cool Caleaf mentioning that King Charles moves were not house when House started in Chicago. It still comes from here. At least music wise it still does. There's still no better House DJ's then the Holy Trinity of Chicago after old school and that's Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, and Sneak. There's so many more to mention, but no one from anywhere is like those 3 and that's from any city in the world. These 3 are house, but each has their own sound specifically while all the other greats are more comparable.

  • @johnnymatteis3452
    @johnnymatteis3452 5 років тому

    So King Charles makes a comment about the dance being derived from Hip-hop. I'd agree, but I''' get more specific and say the B-Boy style of hip-hop. You still the house heads in the house clubs jacking their 1980 Adidas track suits. That's B-Boy more then Hip-hop and it's all good.

  • @johnnymatteis3452
    @johnnymatteis3452 5 років тому

    This is cool. Especially being from Chicago. I'm a HUGE HOUSE FLY myself. With so many different clubs that would have one night for House, and another for hard house, and so and so on, the differences in the music being played would set a lot of tempos for peoples mind sets. I'm a dago, and I had a select few real real House heads for friends, but we were friends, so I'd go out with them to their nights at certain clubs playing the crap they liked. Hard house, progressive what ever. You had to watch out for idiots in the crowd. Never with house tho. The crowed was there for the music and peace and good time vibe was evident. I could walk into a club and be one of 3 white guys and got nothing but love if it was house music being played. I'd be asked "You're here for the house?" and I would deep in the hood. Loved. I couldn't do that if it was hip-hop or anything else. That's one thing I always loved about house.
